HYKOGEEN 87/40
Extrusion-transforming lubricant
Description
HYKOGEEN 87/40 is a flowable dispersion of graphites in mineral oil. It forms a closed, homogeneous lubricating film on hot surfaces of the tools owing to its excellent ability to creep and expand. Thus, it reduces the press force.
Furthermore, does HYKOGEEN 87/40 increase the die life due its good releasing effects in between moulds and workpiece.
Fields of application
HYKOGEEN 87/40 is used for extrusion operations during warm forging processes of steel (e.g. valve forges).
Method of application
HYKOGEEN 87/40 is ready to use and should be applied undiluted by dripping. The use of dose pumps and spraying devices enable efficient application.
Valves of normal size require 1.5 – 2.5 g of the lubricant per transformation.
Note
It is recommended to stir HYKOGEEN 87/40 before use.
Features
- excellent ability to expand and creep
- improves the flow of the metal and the quality of the surface
- outstanding lubricating properties
- less smoke and fumes than conventional oil products containing graphite
