Die and circulation-system lubricant
Description
LUBRODAL C 48 PM is a water miscible die lubricant for the warm forging of steel, even for high temperatures of the tools. It is free of graphite and shows excellent lubricating, releasing and propulsion effects.
After application LUBRODAL C 48 PM forms a brown, adhesive and dry releasing film of high lubricity on the engraved surfaces.
Fields of application
LUBRODAL C 48 PM is used for the warm forging of steel, in particular if graphite containing die lubricants cannot be used due to hygienic reasons.
Method of application
LUBRODAL C 48 PM is a concentrate and must be diluted with water before application. It can be applied via suitable spraying systems.
A strong and even spray jet with adjustable throughputs of the nozzles as well as an adjustable air-liquid ratio are required.

Standard values for the dilution of LUBRODAL C 48 PM with water:
Horizontal forging machines with circulation-system lubrication : 1 : 3 – 7
Difficult transformations : 1 : 2 – 5
Transformations of average difficulty : 1 : 5 – 10
Simple transformations : 1 : 10 – 30
Drop forges : 1 : 2 – 8
The optimal ratio of dilution has to be determined in practice.
